GB/T 35590-2017 "General Specification for Mobile Power Supplies for Information Technology Portable Digital Devices" was first released on December 29, 2017 as a recommended national standard for mobile power supplies, and was officially implemented on July 1, 2018 onwards. The standard has received extensive attention from the industry and the market since its release.

I. Test content

GB/T 35590:2017 specifies the technical requirements, test methods, quality assessment procedures, as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of mobile power supplies for portable digital devices. Especially for the rated capacity, rated energy, environmental adaptability, safety regulations. Will provide a more accurate technical basis for subsequent product design and development, supervision and sampling, as well as transportation identification. In the standard, the definitions of various terms are clarified, and specific and clear requirements are made for various aspects of mobile power, including: appearance marking, performance, safety protection, safety, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental adaptability, and the limit of restricted substances, etc. For example, the cycle life of mobile power should be less than 10 years. For example, the cycle life of mobile power should be not less than 300 times, the product must have overshoot protection, over discharge protection, short circuit protection, overload protection, misoperation protection, etc..

II. Scope of application of the standard:

1. mobile power supply means, by the battery or battery pack, the corresponding circuit and shell combination, can provide stable DC output of non-fixed power supply system, and not more than 18kg is scheduled to be carried by the user of the power supply.

2.portable digital equipment with an input voltage of not more than 250V, output DC voltage of not more than 60V, single-port output current of not more than 5A, the use of wired output method of mobile power.  

Mobile power capacity false labeling problems:

First, the manufacturer directly mislabeled a large battery capacity, which is false labeling.

The second is that the manufacturer uses the capacity of the battery cell inside the mobile power supply to represent the capacity of the entire output of the mobile power supply. According to the law of conservation of energy, as long as there is energy conversion, there is energy loss, in fact, the mobile power to the outside output must not be 100% conversion, loss is certain, so consumers usually feel the actual use of mobile power capacity is less than the manufacturer's nominal capacity.
